- Self Improvement sucks
Self Improvement sucks
Get left behind or learn the new renaissance way
“Change happens when you reach a point where the pain of being idle is more severe than the pain of change”
When you hit that point, you will change for the better
I hit the point 5 years ago on Apr 16, 2019
I have an elder brother
He’s fair, taller (6’ 2”), bulkier (75 kg), smarter - he nailed his academics, in short, he’s the stereotype kiddo the whole happy loves and I had outrageous anger and envy over him.
I always wanted to kill him (I was 15)
If you’re not feeling the urge to smash your brother’s face, he’s not doing his job right.
All these were normal
Until my inferiority complex almost killed me.
My family took me for dumb.
My uncle, a software technician (no idea what it means) was teaching my brother how computer language works. I joined halfway, I had no idea what he was talking about, so like a good kid, I asked “What are these on the screen?”
He gave me a simple answer, “You won’t get it, son”
That shattered my heart, “He thinks I’m dumber than my brother?” “That’s so unfair” “Am I dumb?” “Maybe I am”
The shame coupled with my brother’s irritating behavior reached a point where I couldn’t handle the pain so I decided to take my life. (I was just 15)
My suicide story has nothing to do with self-improvement so the point is
I reached my rock bottom. Now the only way I had is up.
I’m lucky to have had such a good start in my teens but you don’t need to hit rock bottom to improve your life.
You can start by building a Business
Business is the ultimate form of self-improvement.
Let me explain:
A business gives you a purpose
A business makes your mind, body and spirit align with the purpose
Your priorities become straight. You stop giving a fuck about things doesn’t matter
You will rise to the intensity and knowledge your business demands.
A business in this Renaissance era is as simple as learning a skill you are curious about and teaching what you learnt through writing online to attract an audience and turn them into customers exchanging values.
That’s it.
In practicality, It is as simple as:
Learning Content Writing
Understanding Audience building through studying social media
Teaching people through platforms like X, LinkedIn etc.. (I prefer X)
Attracting the audience through building authority & social proof
Helping that audience with your skills (Value exchange)
So I’m going to leave you with a call to action:
Start learning a skill you are curious about
Share the journey as tweets and posts - build audience
Help that audience with their problems - sell it as a service
If you’re reading this, you might be working on the first step and should have started on step 2. Now I want you to take this seriously because I’m convinced you are just 6 months away from deep focused work to achieve financial freedom.
I hope I can convince you too after me making it in 6 months
I have shared the exact path I’m walking
Follow me.
See you next week,
