The art of surfing life.

Understand life so you live it.

Life happens in Waves

I’m intrigued by how life unfolds itself as Waves

Once I started noticing the patterns life turned to be more exciting. So I thought of sharing it with you.

I’ve been recording myself for 4 years every single day in my journal

I’ve noticed how every time life unfolds itself as waves during my review sessions

It’s interesting because I can simply summarize it as waves

  • The High Tide - Progress and Obsession

  • The Low Tide - Lost and searching

Tides have their lows and highs.

One month I find myself working hard and feeling satisfied drenched in sweat and joy.

The high tide.

  • Clear vision & greater purpose

  • Hours of deep work

  • Zero distraction

  • Zone in

The other month I’m lost. Waiting for a new high.

  • Lost in thoughts

  • A purposeless mind craving excitement

  • Zero momentum. Zero action. Suffering boredom.

The low tide.

You can’t control those waves but you can learn to surf better.

The High Tide:

You go all in

Standing ruthless against distractions.

You hit the high tide when you feel the urge to get the work done.

I personally find it the most important phase of my life.

Trust me when I say, you’ll progress more in 1 week than in 3 months.

The Low Tide:

Are you lost?

You probably are…

Quick check List:

  • No Purpose

  • Deeply unsatisfied

  • Nothing to look up to

  • circling back to the same point

  • Numbing your brain so you can relax

If you said YES for any 3, realize you’re lost in life.

I want you to be careful in this phase

If not, you’ll get stuck in this phase for months, probably years.

A Personal Story:

I got stuck in this phase for almost 6 months.

  • I was working 14 hrs a day in a mindless job (Jan)

  • Mom got bedridden for 2 months (Feb)

  • My relationship was rotting and demanded time and attention (Apr)

  • Had to prepare for exams and academics (May)

  • Got a chance to visit exotic places in decades, So I went in. (Jun)

Valid reasons will pile up pulling you away but in the end, you’re still lost & distracted from your goals

You can’t blame it. You accept it.

Finally, in July, The universe aligned to let me make time for deep work.

But the Fact is, I could have saved those 6 months if I knew how to surf the low tide.

Let me show you, so You don’t look back and regret losing your time.

I’ll make it quick:

  • Don’t fight it

    • Realize it’s normal. Accept it.

  • Collect your mind

    • Your mind will be all over the place.

    • Journal your way out to clarity

      • Set aside 60 mins

      • Write down your frustrations & problems

      • The more you write, the easier it gets to understand and cut down your problems

  • Don’t rush

    • Plan your day - lets you be more mindful and present

    • If you know your goals - Set tasks for the day, the night before

    • If you don’t know what to pursue - Curiosity is your compass. follow it.

      • Learn a new skill

      • Read & listen to your interests

      • Teach what you learn writing on platforms like X or LinkedIn.

  • Fix your sleep

    • Your sleep schedule is the first thing that gets fucked

  • Get bored

    • Avoid the noise.

    • Do a digital detox if possible

    • Put your mind in solitude. It’ll fix itself.

This is exactly how I recharged myself with a purpose.

We humans can’t live without a purpose. We either live with a purpose or numb our brains to not realize we are living without a purpose.

So decide where you wanna go.

Have good values - When you lack the motivation to push, your values pull you.

Set your aim.

Close down the distractions.

Get your mind and body aligned towards the path to your goal.

and Go all in when the time hits right.

You might get lost and ruin yourself once again but don’t worry. Recollect & redefine yourself.

I won’t judge. I’ve been there.
